The Barczak family visit was full of adventures-possibly a future veterinarian! We had lots of fun showing the boys what the dairy was all about.  Mom and dad enjoyed it too!
The high school helpers are working hard unloading the fresh, baled hay.
Spreading the nutrients on the neighbors field.  We all work together and recycle and share the nutrients that come naturally from our girls.
Yes, this is where the milk goes and gets picked up every other day.  The milk gets tested in this tank before it leaves the farm and again when it goes to the re-load, Hagen transfer in Elkhorn.  It gets tested there as well and sent off to its final destination for cheese production.
The milk flows from the palor to the basement where the plate cooler works hard to chill the milk before it goes back upstairs to the bulk tank.

Space-saving ideas and recycling are always part of the protocol at Kylecrest Holsteins.  Water gets recycled in the basement parlor which takes care of all the cleaning in the double-six parlor.
Hayden is having fun in the 80's in his high school musical "Flashback to the 80's".  I had so much fun living during the 80's and glad that I don't have to pretend!
We are blessed to live in the country where everyone works well together and life is peaceful!

Quality forage is just part of the nutritious diet that the cows get in their balanced ration!

All the girls on the farm, including Harley, enjoy the comfy compost barn.  Ventilation is critical and important in relaxing the cows so we invested money in "Big Ass" fans!    The girls get fresh feed everyday, six times a day!  The healthy ingredients are weighed, measured and balanced according to cow body mass and mixed together in a tumbler to make it palatable for the cows.
Agriculture educator, Dave Kruse, buying compost for his garden at home!  Thanks for your support Dave!
