I recently took a fall and jammed my head into a doorknob at my coffee shop. Little did I know how awful and how serious a head injury can be. Today, nine days later I feel almost like myself again. When they say "sit back and smell the coffee" they aren't kidding!
I spent a week in bed in the dark with my sunglasses on and it was the only place that I felt safe and could sleep away the days while my head worked at finding its new normal. I am not sure what that means, but I know that today, Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 I feel like "Laurie"! I don't ever want to go back and feel the nausea, confusion, and pain that I had felt.
Most days I am a happy, funny, lady that doesn't take anything for granted. OK, so now...I really appreciate my good health even more.
Thanks to my ladies at PerKup for running the coffee shop when I couldn't. I have this amazing daughter who also always has my back!
